Save and Preview Content

Changes made to a block, file, folder or page must be submitted after editing. Content can be saved by previewing a draft of your changes before submitting or bypassing the preview to submit your changes.

Saving, Previewing, and Reviewing Your Content

When you make changes to a block, file, folder, or page, those changes must be submitted. You can save your work by previewing a draft or directly submitting it.

Note: Submitting changes does not update the live site. Updates are made through publishing.

Preview and Submit

  1. Preview Draft:
    • After editing, click “Preview Draft” in the upper right.
    • Review the previewed page.
    • Click “Submit” and add comments if needed. Click “Check Content & Submit” and complete the content check, then click the checkmark to submit.
    • If revisions are needed, click “Edit,” make changes, and repeat.
  2. Discard Edits:
    • To discard changes and revert to the original, click “Discard.”

Drafts

Cascade saves drafts automatically. If you leave the editing interface, a draft is saved. Next time you enter, you’ll be notified of the saved draft with options to preview, resume editing, or discard it.

  1. Edit a Draft:
    • When a draft is saved, a dropdown menu before the page name allows you to view the current version or the saved draft.
    • Select “Draft” and click “Edit” to make changes.
  2. Access Your Drafts:
    • Click “My Content” in the toolbar and select “Drafts.”
    • Drafts are also accessible from the dashboard by clicking “Home” (Cascade logo) and selecting the “Drafts” tab in the “My Content” widget.

Content Checker

Before submitting, you’ll complete a spell check, broken link check, and accessibility check. Cascade flags any issues.

  1. Spell Check:
    • Lists misspelled or unfamiliar words.
    • Options: Add to dictionary, ignore, or fix with suggested words.
  2. Broken Links:
    • Scans for broken links.
    • Options: View reason, ignore, or fix with a new URL.
  3. Accessibility:
    • Reviews content for accessibility issues.
    • Click “Inspect” for detailed explanations and recommendations.

By following these steps, you ensure your content is accurate, accessible, and ready for publishing.
